About Text Case Converter

Text Case Converter is a free, browser-based tool for changing text between writing cases (UPPERCASE, Title Case, Sentence case) and code cases (camelCase, snake_case, kebab-case and more), plus a set of clean-up tools for text that's been pasted from somewhere messier.

It started as a way to fix the small, repetitive annoyance of text arriving in the wrong case — a heading pasted from a spreadsheet in all caps, a variable name that needs to move from Python's snake_case to JavaScript's camelCase, a paragraph copied out of a PDF with doubled spaces and broken line breaks. Rather than switch between several single-purpose tools, everything here lives on one page.

What makes the conversions correct, not just fast

Case conversion looks trivial until you hit the edge cases: Title Case has to know which small words stay lowercase and which style guide is being followed; Sentence case has to recognise "Dr." and "e.g." as abbreviations rather than sentence endings, and has to leave acronyms like NASA alone rather than lowercasing them. This tool handles those cases explicitly rather than doing a naive first-letter capitalisation pass — the title case page covers AP, APA, Chicago and MLA rules specifically, and the sentence case page goes into the abbreviation and acronym handling in more depth.

Everything runs in your browser

Every conversion happens locally in JavaScript. Nothing you type is uploaded, logged, or stored on a server — the tool works even if you disconnect from the internet after the page has loaded. The site is supported by display advertising so it can stay free to use, with no account, sign-up or usage limit.

Maintained and improved

This is an actively maintained tool, not a one-off script — conversion rules get refined as edge cases turn up, and new case formats and clean-up options get added over time.
