Two ways to capitalize text

Capital Case capitalises the first letter of every word, which is handy for names, product lists and headings. Sentence case capitalises only the first letter of each sentence. Switch between them with the buttons above and watch the result change.

Capital Case vs Title Case

Capital Case capitalises every word. Title Case follows style-guide rules and leaves small words such as of, and and the in lowercase unless they start or end the title. For headlines and article titles, use the Title Case option or the dedicated title case converter.

Common uses

Fixing names typed in lowercase, tidying lists copied from a spreadsheet, formatting headings, cleaning product names, and turning pasted all-caps text into something readable.

Things to check

Names like McDonald, iPhone and eBay have their own capitalisation and may need a manual fix. Acronyms should stay in capitals.
